How the CBB watch guide ranks games

The college basketball watch guide ranks each day's games by how worth watching they should be, grouped by tip-off time.

How it works

Watch score (0-100): it starts from both teams' GORD ranks, where #1 counts 100, #101 half that and #201 a quarter. The two are combined so the weaker team counts most (a harmonic mean). A game that's a coin flip by our model keeps all of that; a sure thing keeps half.

A Top 25 matchup and a tournament game each close a quarter of the gap to 100 (the NCAA tournament counts twice). Toss-up marks a game between 42% and 58%; Upset watch, an underdog at 35% or better.

Your starred teams go first. While games are on, a game moves up for a finish within 6 points in the last five minutes, overtime, or an underdog ahead in the second half, and drops for a blowout.

Keep in mind

It's a guess at entertainment, not a ranking of the teams. A team GORD doesn't rank counts as #365.

When it updates

Live scores every three minutes while a game is on; the day's games with the daily update.
